Trinity Hall MCR’s premier academic event – come and join in an informal day of talks and debates designed to showcase the MCR’s intellectual talent.

All members of the MCR are invited to participate in the Marshall McLuhan Symposium. Named after the distinguished communications theorist and alumnus of Trinity Hall, the Symposium provides a friendly forum for stimulating intellectual discussion in the college graduate community. This year’s theme is ‘Going Places: Motion, Movement, Travel’, which will be the inspiration for a morning of informal presentations, followed by a keynote address from a Fellow of the College. Thereafter a discussion panel on ‘Freedom of Information’ and three light-hearted debates (with prizes for the winners!) will lead into a wine reception in the MCR, after which symposiasts can progress to the Graduates and Fellows’ Buffet in the SCR. College has very kindly agreed to sponsor refreshments throughout the day.

All are welcome – if you’re planning to attend, or have any queries or comments about the event, email one or both of the Academic Officers, Phil (pwes2) and Umberto (um212).

Online bookings are not available for this event.
