Grad Hall tickets booked through HalBook cannot be refunded, but they can be transferred to another MCR member. The GradHallTrade system allows this transaction to take place. When the system pairs a buyer and seller, it simultaneously notifies the dining staff, who then make the necessary arrangements, including debiting the buyer’s account and crediting the seller’s. To emphasise, buyer and seller should not exchange money directly.
GradHallTrade is only open to members of Trinity Hall MCR. If you are an outside guest looking for a ticket, please ask your Trinity Hall host to buy the ticket for you.
It is perfectly acceptable to find a buyer or seller by means other than GradHallTrade, but if you do then please notify Joseph Risino (gr241) who will make the necessary arrangements. Why? The MCR subsidises MCR members’ meals but not those of their guests. So if an MCR member transfers a subsidised ticket to an MCR member who uses it for a guest, the MCR no longer wishes to subsidise it, and conversely. Please do not sneak in a guest—the MCR Committee begs you to explore alternative avenues of kleptomaniacal gratification.
PLEASE NOTE: GradHallTrade allows you to choose whether you want to buy or sell a normal or vegetarian ticket. If either meal type will do then select “either” when buying. When trading a Grad Hall ticket, the dietary requirements must remain the same. If changes are requested (for example to vegetablize an omnivorous ticket) an extra charge will be levied and such changes can only occur if the trade takes place by 2pm on the Monday preceding the Grad Hall.
