*Change of date/time*
As an extension of Mental Health week, the CUSU Welfare officer will be coming to the LSR on Monday evening to give an informative talk on eating disorders: what they are, how to recognise the signs and how to cope if you or a friend is suffering from one. This event is open to all college students and there will be chance to ask questions at the end. We will follow the talk with a discussion about cooking as a student, with ideas on how to make the most of the microwave and how to cook quick healthy meals on a student budget. And if that's not enough, there will be tasty homemade treats courtesy of the MCR Women's and Welfare officers! What more could you want on a Sunday morning?

Abstract: Every day millions of people depend on prescription medications to help them with a variety of ailments, from the antacid taken to alleviate indigestion to the antibiotic used to cure a chest infection and analgesics to relieve pain. However, there is little public awareness into the effectiveness of individual medications. Nowhere is this truer than in the realm of mental health. This talk will examine the evidence-base for one such psychiatric medication, Seroquel, and in doing so will touch on broader issues concerning drug development and the role of the pharmaceutical industry in drug promotion.
